NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS: 

ATTENTION JUNIORS: On Wednesday, September 30th, ALL juniors must report to their regularly assigned Wednesday HR/Tutorial. Juniors who have registered to take the PSAT/NMSQT will be completing a Digital Readiness Check during this time. This is MANDATORY and must be completed to ensure you are properly prepared for the PSAT/NMSQT test day. Even if you are NOT taking the PSAT/NMSQT, you must still report to your assigned HR/Tutorial teacher as usual. Again, ALL JUNIORS must report to their Wednesday HR/Tutorial on Wednesday, September 30th.

GUIDANCE ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Attention all college bound 11th and 12th grade students: Representatives from the following schools will be meeting with students in the McDowell South HUB this week: Stanford University, John Carroll University, Walsh University, and Carlow University. If you are interested in learning more about any of these schools, you must sign up in Naviance in order to get a pass to attend!! Just click on "Colleges", then "Visits." Any questions, please see Mrs. Gilroy.

Important Reminder! College Night is this Thursday, October 1st from 6-8 PM. Come check out over 50 colleges! New this year: FAFSA Help HUB Students and parents can head to the HUB for assistance setting up their account and get answers to financial aid questions from the experts. SPORTS ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Tickets for this Friday's varsity football game vs. Cathedral Prep at Veterans' Stadium will be on sale during tutorial period starting Wednesday, Sept. 30 in the hallway outside the South building main gymnasium next to the athletic office. Tickets will continue to be sold each day during tutorial through Friday or until they are sold out. Tickets are 7-dollars for adults and 5-dollars for students. Additional tickets are on sale at Cathedral Prep all week long, so if you miss out on sales here at McDowell, they are still available downtown. Again, a limited ticket sale for this Friday's football game vs. Prep begins Wednesday, Sept. 30, during tutorial period in the hallway outside the south building main gymnasium. 

Boys and girls varsity golf hit the links today in the Individual District 10 Championship. Boys and girls varsity cross country travel to General McLane for a 4:00 away meet. Boys and girls water polo head to North Allegheny with the girls game at 6:00 and the boys at 7:00. Girls soccer is traveling to Meadville tonight for away games, Varsity starts at 6:00 and JV at 7:30. And girls volleyball hosts Ft. LeBoeuf, JV is at 6:00 and varsity is at 7:15.

REPEAT ANNOUNCEMENTS:

Hello, all McDowell students! Would you like to make a change in your community for the upcoming Thanksgiving season? Join us for the Thanksgiving Box of Love food drive to support the Erie City Mission's cause in providing for local homeless families during the holidays! We are accepting boxes of stuffing, packets of gravy, large cans of yams, cranberry sauce, canned vegetables, brownie mix, and even card games. By donating these items, you can directly help those in need right here in our city. Donations should be dropped off in Mr. Andrzejczak's room, 2-207, and Mr. Bailey's room, 121, by Friday, November 6.

Game Changer Sports Ministry is sponsoring a Mini Golf outing on Saturday, October 17. The event is free for students! Look for flyers around school or stop down to the Athletic Office for details. Free mini golf event! 

Game Changer Sports Ministry will have our initial meeting of the new school year, Thursday, Oct 1st during tutorial in the LGI at McDowell South. All athletes, please join us and see what it's all about.

There will be no ESL club this week. See you all next week!

Homecoming Dance tickets are on sale now through Wednesday, October 7th! Tickets are $20 each and can be purchased through Infinite Campus → School Store. Each McDowell student may purchase: 1 ticket for themselves, 1 guest ticket for a student who does NOT attend McDowell. Important Guest Information: You cannot purchase a guest ticket for another McDowell student. All guests must have a completed and signed Guest Form turned in before the dance. No physical tickets will be issued! When entering the dance, students will need to have their Infinite Campus account pulled up or provide their student ID number. Don't wait—get your tickets before sales close.
